The core of SF Weed Week 2024 was 7 world-class growers releasing 7 amaze-balls strains at 7 dope lounges over the course of the 7 hot nights leading up to 4/20. SF Weed Week 2024 was produced by award-winning cannabis journalist David Downs. In 2025, we will be moving to a new brand name: “Spacewalk”—SF’s 420 week.

SF Weed Week 2024 began in 2023 when award-winning cannabis journalist and best-selling author David Downs learned about SF Beer Week, and thought, ‘I want to go to there, but for weed.’ Downs has covered tech for WIRED, music for Rolling Stone, and The Onion, New York Times, and marijuana for Scientific American. He is the senior editor for the popular cannabis app Leafly (2018 to present), and the former Cannabis Editor of the San Francisco Chronicle (2016-2018). Downs is also a 2024 Emerald Cup judge for pre-rolls.
