Frequently Asked Questions

The first annual SF Weed Week is so mind-blowing, there’s bound to be questions. We’ll answer them on this blog post to the best of our ability. Leave a comment or send us an email if you have more questions.

Question

Are people going to pay to go to these events? Generally you have to buy some weed to get into the Lounges? Regular retail not? Will folks buy or get some kind of pass?

Answer

The events are free. The marketing will generate pre-sales for in-store pickup and meet and greet and event sales as well. There’s no passes. You show up and hang out. We’re keeping it simple. The Eventbrite free RSVPs help us remind folks to turn out, and ballpark headcount.

Question

How will retailers give folks a discount? If they mention the magic words, SF Weed Week? Or, as mentioned above, some type of pass? Assuming by stores participation, you mean they would have a poster, give a discount.

Answer

Yeah the theme here is, ‘Keep it simple. Just mention ‘SF Weed Week’ for the discount. No passes. (Stores that participate will probably have to create a discount code in their point of sale system.) Stores that create deal get free digital marketing, like the event Map and Deals page, and Social mentions.

Question

Wait, when is SF Weed Week?

Answer

The grower series runs Saturday, April 13 to Friday, April 19. April 20 is the big party on Hippie Hill.

Question

So when is the art show?

Answer

The art show opens Friday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. The exhibition is open daily to the public from 12 to 5 p.m. and is free. Parties at the gallery generally run 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., depending on the night. Check the schedule for the latest.

Question

Why are you making art shows involving plastic, which is bad and makes me feel bad?

Answer

Thanks for caring about the Earth. This is an up-cycling project. We’re holding a Sustainable Day from 12 to 5 p.m. on Earth Day 4/22 in the gallery exploring the future of packaging. We’re going to do glass jar shows in the future. Entry into Sustainable Day requires the pick-up of at least one piece of litter on the block. Gloves provided. Use the Get Involved form so we can best help you to program Sustainable Day.
